Week 2 – Pendulum

This blog is about process of making simple animation of Pendulum movement.

Version One

I tried to animate the Pendulum, and in this version the Pendulum swings too much at the top (sketch of 5th step) of my animation. This was because I had a problem with the planning. Then I kept trying to change this problem, pendulum still showed not good, therefore I got the animation of pendulum back to the parallel movement shown in the Final Version.

This video shows the movement of pendulum made in Maya. The item reference is from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hE_6rYcQY0

Sketch

This image shows the pendulum movement. I drew key frame(black), extremes frame(red), breakdowns frame (blue) and some frames between them (green and yellow).

Week 1-The Animation of Bouncing Ball

This blog is about process of making bouncing ball.

Version One

This version is my first attempt at making small balls.

I think there is something wrong with the dynamic of the ball’s bounce and deformation.

This video shows the movement of bouncing ball made in Maya
and the ball is reference from bloopanimation, the link is https://www.bloopanimation.com/ball-rig/

Version Two

I tried to make a second version of the ball, adding the ball spin, but the ball bounce animation was still not good.

Final Version

Reference

This picture from Youtube(a video) shows movement of bouncing ball,
the link is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDqjIdI4bF4 (12 principles of animation)

Planning

It is referenced from the picture above.

I tried paint the movement curve, the ball and the squashed ball.

The video shows that I made a simple version of the movement of bouncing ball.

Week1- Course Introduction

This week provides an initial introduction to the course schedule and final essay requirements to discuss potential critical essay topics in class.

Critical essays can focus on the following aspects:

1. Interested in research direction.

2. How will this research affect current or future research on

theories and events?

3. How to meet the final requirements of the course.

3.1 Which group is the audience of this report?

3.2 What knowledge do you want them to know?

We had a preliminary understanding of planning the survey and finding evidence and answers. We learned how to create a title divided into structures such as introduction, statement, identification and investigation objectives, methods, etc.
